EMBRACING NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS

We all have the capacity to live happily, healthy, and in balance. Stress can be defined as always wanting to be somewhere that we are not. We all share the fundamental fear of being alone, losing control, or being unlovable as we are. When we enter into the practice of focusing on the breath and staying still, we are able to reach beyond the impact of our negative thoughts and emotions to connect to a place of peace and connectivity. Instead of constricting around negative feelings, we can allow ourselves to open to them, and “fall through” so we can embrace something wonderful at the bottom…a discovery of a new sense of well-being that allows us to move beyond the stress of everyday life. Every time we encounter a negative thought or feeling we have a choice…to open and “fall through” or to constrict and reinforce bad habits and reactivity.
